Frequently Asked Questions

When does the course start and finish?
The course starts now and never ends! It is a completely self-paced online course - you decide when you start and when you finish.
How long do I have access to the course?
How does lifetime access sound? After enrolling, you have unlimited access to this course for as long as you like - across any and all devices you own.
What happens if my baby cries or needs to feed or falls to sleep during the session?
Baby Massage should always be Baby led which means there are no pressures to keep your little one quite or ignore his/her needs. There is plenty of time for practice. The build up to the routine takes time so don't worry if you don't get to do it all in one day your baby will soon tolerate more massage as you ease them into the practice. if your little one falls asleep wait until your little one is in a Quiet Active Alert state to start again (This we will look at in greater detail at the during session 1). The beauty of your online course is that you can come back and re watch at anytime. This way you and your baby can relax and enjoy your massage practice together.
What is the ideal age to start Baby Massage?
Baby massage can be offered to a baby from birth but ,To get the most enjoyment from the course the best time is from 8 weeks to 6 months or pre-crawling age. Before this age your little one is adjusting to live outside of the womb and a full body massage with oil would be to stimulating. If you wish from birth to 7 weeks, massage in small areas of the body ideally through clothes. This eases your little one into building up to the full body massage routine. After 6 months your baby may lose interest in receiving massage as he/she explores the world around them. Don’t worry most babies come back to massage around 18months and of course you can always introduce singing, and stories to make the massage more engaging.
What type of oil should I buy to use on my baby
Mother & Bump reccomend cold pressed Coconut for babies under 3 months and above. You may also use Cold pressed Sunflower oil. You can purchase via our website www.motherandbumpmasage.co.uk or buy from any good natural health store. We strongly advise that you always perform a patch test on your baby before using for the full massage. Do this by applying a small amount of oil in the crease of your little ones elbow. Leave on for fifteen minutes if there is a reaction wash of quickly and then try a different medium.

Our online course is designed to teach you Baby Massage skills so that, by the end of the course you will be able to carry out safely and confidently a full body routine on your little one.

We are so excited and love the fact that you are able to come back to view the course as many times as you wish.
